Objectives:

English Curriculum:
EDB Space Town Literacy Programme for KS1:2 NETs, English teachers and 2 classroom assistants conduct this programme.
The NET, an English teacher and a classroom assistant co-teach 4 reading and writing lessons a week in the English room.To promote e-Learning, self-directed learning and home reading.

From Reading to Writing Programme for KS2:To design school-based reading materials and writing tasks with the support of EDB School-based Curriculum Development (Primary) Section. To Integrate e-learning ,self-directed learning and project learning elements into the GE curriculum with the support of EDB Language Learning Support Section.

Hello everyone! My name is Mr Grainger and I am from The United Kingdom. I have worked as the EDB NET teacher at Wai Chow since 2019 and have previously taught English in mainland China and Japan as well as all primary school subjects in The UK. I thoroughly enjoy engaging with the incredible students we have here at Wai Chow, both in and out of the classroom. I expect students to come with a positive attitude and try their best in my lessons and I strive daily to make learning English a rich and rewarding experience for them. I wholeheartedly believe in the power of the English language, not simply for its economic benefits, but to open up a world of possibilities for students to improve their lives, meet people of different cultures, travel and broaden their horizons. I would like to share with you my favourite Chinese proverb: ‘To learn a new language is to have one more window from which to look at the world.’ I look forward to opening this window together with the students as we embark on an exiting learning journey together. Hi everyone, I am Miss. Bibi. As an educator, I firmly believe in the words of Benjamin Franklin: "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn." It reinforces my conviction that active engagement is crucial to successful learning outcomes. Thus, I strive to make learning enjoyable by actively involving my students and encouraging their participation. I enjoy teaching at Wai Chow Public School where the students are highly engaged and interactive. A little about me: I enjoy hiking, jogging, and exploring new places- being the adventurous and adrenaline junkie that I am. And yes, I am a big foodie too.

1.五年級澳洲學習之旅

2025年7月12日至21日，同學們在澳大利亞展開了一次精彩絕倫，流連忘返的教育文化之旅。在這個全球面積第六大的的國家，我們通過欣賞美景體會到了自然的美不勝收；我們通過交流學習感受到了文化的豐富多彩；我們通過與動物相處體會到了生物的奇妙。

《五年級澳洲學習之旅 1：布里斯班》

➢ Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary 野生動物園: 觀賞袋鼠、樹熊、綿羊、袋熊（Wombats）、塔斯馬尼亞惡魔（Tasmanian devils）及陶金，深入了解環境和生物多樣性保護。

➢🐟Tweed Eco Cruise Tour: 登上河流遊船，渡過一個難忘的翠兒河(Tweed River)遊船活動，親自體驗抓丫比蝦(小型本地甲殼類動物)，拉起蟹籠、到餵鳥、釣魚。

➢ 📸華立兄弟電影樂園（Movie World）: 暢玩各種機動遊戲，包括刺激的賽車、驚險的過山車、跳樓機，還觀賞了多種精彩表演及震撼的4D電影。

➢ 人造海灘: 在海灘上玩耍，感受海風拂面，使人身心愉悅。 ➢🎡布里斯本之眼:搭乘摩天輪，你可以在布裡斯班河的上空360度盡情俯瞰這座城市的美景，享受令人屏息的美好時光。 ➢昆士蘭博物館科學中心(Queensland Museum & Sciencentre) : 探索各式各樣的科學奧秘⚡️，包括 Tesla Coin、鋁磁鐵🧲、浮力實驗💧和電路板🪫。

➢乘搭Aqua Duck 🦆🚎: Aqua Duck 是一款能夠在陸地和水上運行的交通工具，十分有趣! 同學亦在船上假扮船長開航 ⛵️，再次收到證書！

➢ 登上 Brisbane Summit Outlook: 一覽布里斯本的壯麗景色，城市美景盡收眼底！🏙️✨。

在自然與人文美景的結合中，我們不僅領略了自然的壯麗秀美，更親身感受澳洲的人文風采，豐富了我們的知識和拓寬了我們的眼界。

五年級澳洲之旅 2：農莊田園生活🐮🧑‍🌾

在五年級的澳洲之旅的第三丶四天，我們來到了郊外綠意盎然的農莊Bestbrook Mountain Farm，進行很多有意義的活動，曠闊眼界。

➢ 親親小動物：與袋鼠🦘、樹熊、鸚鵡互動🦜，餵羊咩咩🐑，還有和可愛的小雞🐥鴨仔🦆近距離接觸，甚至一起共進午餐。

➢ 不一樣的美術課1（彩繪回力鏢🪃）：欣賞皮鞭與回力鏢示範表演後，立刻動手彩繪回力鏢，每一個設計都充滿創意 🎨💡當成品制作成功後，有一種別樣的成就感！

➢ 觀星活動：在農莊裏完美的躲避了城市的光污染，浩瀚星河展現眼前，仿佛無窮無盡。

➢ 擠牛奶：體驗新奇的活動，教導我們如何擠牛奶，新鮮的牛奶真是回味無窮！

➢ 不一樣的美術課2（Gnome painting活動 👩‍🎨🧙）：每位小朋友都發揮創意，為小矮人上色 👩‍🎨🧙，每一隻都超有個性!

在澳洲農莊的體驗讓我們深深感受到了大自然的魅力和田園生活的美好。這裏的空氣清新，風景如畫，讓人心情愉悅。在這次農莊旅程，真是讓我們收獲滿滿丶獲益良多！

五年級澳洲學習之旅3：學校交流Ashmore State School🏫

同學們到了Labrador State School進行學校交流活動。在Labrador State School時，惠小的同學們與Labrador State School的學生夥伴們一起上英文堂、宗教課 🙏 和 STEM 科學課 🧪，大家都認真學習，交流心得！。校園的風景也讓我們大開眼界：四通八達的長廊連接着各個教室，綠油油的草地好像無邊無際，各種各樣的活動器材隨處可見，幾隻白色的大鳥在室外游泳池旁喝水漫步，人與動物和諧共處，好一幅漂亮的畫面！

中午過後，學生夥伴們為惠小的同學們舉辦了一個簡單而隆重的 Farewell Party 🎉，更頒發證書 🎓，一起切蛋糕 🍰 慶祝。我們同學亦為Buddy 預備了窩心的小紀念品 🎁，氣氛溫馨又感動，大家都懷住不捨的心情繼續旅程 🥹。
